Monthly features by John Gallagher
John Gallagher is a director, writer, and producer. His last four features as writer-director — Blue Moon, The Deli, Men Lie, Cupidity — earned a dozen awards in international film festivals. Among the actors he’s worked with as producer-director are Ben Gazzara, Zach Braff, Rita Moreno, Ice T, John Leguizamo, Michael Imperioli, Gretchen Mol, Amanda Peet, Chris Noth, and Jerry Stiller. He was a producer on The Insurgents and Hot Baby!, exec producer on Mango Tango and Liberty!, and co-exec producer on the feature doc Project Tanzania. He is the author of Film Directors on Directing, an upcoming book on William Wellman, and has written for Rolling Stone, American Cinematographer, Fangoria, and Films in Review. John teaches directing at The School of Visual Arts and film acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse.
